The Dallas Cowboys got a shocking win on the road over the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 31-28. Unbelievably, the Cowboys are back in the NFC East race. Actually, they were never really out of it but the way they were playing for a while, no one thought they could actually make a run. Now, who knows? In the win over the Vikings, a couple of players had big days.
Ezekiel Elliott had his first 100-yard game of the season, carrying the ball 21 times for 103 yards. That was a nice average of 4.9 yards per carry, and he tacked on a touchdown through the air. It was definitely Elliott's best game of the season. He also joined a pretty exclusive club on Sunday. For his five-year career, he now has 45 rushing touchdowns and 10 receiving touchdowns. He becomes only the fifth player to reach that milestone in their first five years, joining Shaun Alexander, Marcus Allen, Chuck Foreman and Todd Gurley. That's a nice group of backs. Another player had a big day on Sunday, and that was rookie receiver CeeDee Lamb. The Cowboys young star had four catches for 34 yards and one absolutely amazing touchdown catch. Bob Hayes held the record with 46 catches in 1965. Hayes also set records that year for Cowboys' rookies with 1,003 yards and 12 touchdowns. Lamb now has 48 catches for 629 yards with four touchdowns. Both players were integral to the Cowboys upset win on Sunday.
