At the roundabout with the A557, join the A557 southbound and continue for 4 miles.

Updates as the M62 in Merseyside is closed westbound between J7 near St Helens and J6 Tarbock Island due to a mobile crane which has caught fire. Highways England say emergency services including Merseyside Fire and Rescue service are in attendance. Highways England traffic officers are also in attendance providing assistance with traffic management. There is a large diesel spillage at scene which will require clearing before it is safe to re-open any lanes. Traffic is being diverted via the solid diamond diversion symbol.

Exit the M62 westbound at J7. At the roundabout with the A557, join the A557 southbound and continue for 4 miles. At the roundabout with the A557/A562, turn right onto the A562 westbound. Continue until the roundabout with the A5300. Join the A5300 and continue for 3 miles, leaving just prior to where the M57 begins.
