Greece records daily high of 202 covid cases as Brits flock there for summer holidays

Greece recorded its highest number of new daily coronavirus cases on Sunday since the pandemic began with more than 200 cases. The country reported 203 new cases, according to government officials, bringing its total to 5,623 cases since the first infection was recorded in February. Greece's Minister of Health Vassilis Kikilias said Monday that "the transmission of the virus is dangerously increasing." "I call once again on the youth and the citizens who do not follow the basic measures of personal protection, masks, hygiene rules, safety distances, to consider their responsibilities towards the vulnerable groups, the rest of our fellow citizens and the country," Kikilias said.
