For weeks judges Ken Jeong, Rita Ora, Davina McCall and Jonathon Ross have been trying to guess who is singing in the costumes. But tonight Monster and Fox were revealed to be CeeLo Green and Denise Van Outen. While plenty of viewers were shocked by the celebrities under the mask, some were more baffled by what CeeLo had on under his costume. Always one to make a fashion statement, CeeLo had a pair of sunglasses on under his giant blue monster costume.
One Twitter user, @Lenndo said: " I am loving CeeLo Green's dedication to wearing sunglasses under the monster suit." Another, @MeganFev tweeted: " Why did CeeLo Green have sunglasses on under the Monster costume?! Bright in there?!" A third added: "C eeLo Green wearing his sunglasses under the monster mask is an energy I aspire to have." (Image: ITV) While @superTV247 said: " Wearing sunglasses indoors is one thing but I'm- has CeeLo Green been wearing sunglasses inside his costume all series?" Last week, Duck and Unicorn were unmasked as Jake Shears and Skin from Skunk Anansie. That leaves just three contestants: Queen Bee, Hedgehog and Octopus. Previous guesses for the remaining three have included Jodie Comer, Katherine Jenkins and Nicola Roberts. The Masked Singer is on ITV at 7pm.
The Masked Singer quickly captured the attention of ITV viewers across the county as they desperately try to work out who is behind the masks. The show's semi-final saw the final five battle it out for a place in next weekend's final. Monster was the second star to be eliminated this evening as he just missed out on a place on the final as he was unmasked as Cee Lo Green. The ITV show has fascinated those at home as they turn to amateur detectives each week as they try to work out who might be behind the outlandish costumes. Tonight saw Fox and Monster forced to reveal their true identities as they received the least amount of votes from the studio audience. First up was Fox who was unveiled as TV presenter and actor Denise Van Outen, the remaining four stars then had to sing again to fight for a place in next weekend's final. It was Monster who was eliminated by failing to get enough studio audience votes and those watching at home were left divided by the big identity reveal. Grammy award winner CeeLo Green was seen emerging from the giant blue furry head, but many fans felt his identity was very predictable. One wrote on Twitter: "From the start I was convinced Monster was CeeLo Green so I'm not surprised by his reveal, but it was still fun to keep linking the clues to him each show. Must admit, #MaskedSinger is a kinda fun watch despite my reservations." "The monster was so obvious #MaskedSinger," wrote another, while a third added: "I knew CeeLo Green was Monster since I heard the monster first sing #MaskedSinger." "It could not be anymore obvious that the blue Monster is CeeLo Green #MaskedSinger," echoed another. The Masked Singer: Davina McCall was thrilled with the reveal tonight The Masked Singer: Many fans had believed it was CeeLo from the first episode after he dropped a series of 'obvious' clues "#MaskedSinger even I knew that monster was CeeLo Green... what was Ken on about...b***** Jack Black," commented a fifth. However, many were still left shocked by the reveal as they believed they had been played all along. One viewer shared: "Never in a million years would I think @CeeLoGree would be the blue monster on @MaskedSingerUK #MaskedSingerMind blown Another surprised fan wrote: "Cee lo green... OMG.. I am shook #MaskedSinger," while a third added: "Iconic as F*** @CeeLoGreen #MaskedSinger." [SPOILERS] Many clues had already pointed towards the fact Monster was Cee Lo Green as he seemingly admitted his identity in a clue earlier on in the series. His second performance on the show say him sing Don't Cha by The Pussycat Dolls, which he co-wrote with Busta Rhymes. Even his costume had clues as the Grammy Award style gramophones on top of his head pointed as a nod towards the awards he's previously won. As for why CeeLo Green decided to sign up, he said: "I did the challenge for really simple reasons; it was just a cordial invite and I accepted. "I wanted to see if I could actually win and you go into it simply but, after a while, you become encouraged, you become motivated by the competing factor and it's like ok let me look at my song selections. You know, let me see if I've done right here or there or what have you and so I got into the spirit of the show." Trending
