Hendricks, who currently stars in the NBC dramedy "Good Girls," met Arend, of "Madam Secretary," through her "Mad Men" co-star Vincent Kartheiser in 2007. They couple married on Oct. 11 of that year at Il Buco restaurant in New York City. "Geoffrey walked in and I was like, 'Who is this guy?'" Hendricks said in the March 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan U.K. The couple shared two dogs, as they noted in their breakup statement.

In addition to her TV work, this year Hendricks provided the voice of Gaby Gaby in "Toy Story 4." The Mad Men actress shared the news coincidentally a week after they marked their 10th wedding anniversary, having tied the knot in New York on 11 October 2009. In a joint statement shared on Christina's Instagram account, the estranged couple said: 'Twelve years ago we fell in love and became partners. We joined our two amazing families, had countless laughs, made wonderful friends and were blessed with incredible opportunities. The amicable message added: 'We will be taking time to rediscover ourselves in this transition and we thank you for your patience and support in giving us the space to do so.' Christina and Geoffrey were introduced to each other by her Mad Men co-star Vincent Kartheiser who played Pete Campbell on the hit series.

Speaking to The Times in 2014, the actress said: 'There were a lot of people who came and thanked me for saying it out loud, and I thought, "Well isn't it sad, that we can't say it out loud?" Praising Geoffrey for sharing a similar viewpoint on children, Christina continued: 'We'll celebrate eight years of marriage in October. However in 2012, Christina revealed what happened when they first met and joked to Geoffrey that she wanted to have his children. 'Geoffrey walked in and I was like, "Who is this guy?" He had amazing hair and was all dishevelled – he was running late and everyone was waiting for him. He just came in with this very high energy,' the Good Girls actress told Cosmopolitan UK at the time.
