The Rocket was knocked out by Dominic Dale 5-3 in the qualifying rounds. After going 2-0 down, the Englishman pulled back to a draw in the next two frames. But Ronnie could not stop his opponent from running away to victory with three 50+ breaks. And footage has emerged of the bizarre reaction by fans in Yushan, China. In the clip, Dale has just won the match 86-0 in the eighth frame for 5-3. There is a muted round of applause as the Englishman shakes hands with Ronnie. The Rocket tries to make a hasty exit – but fans quickly make their way down to barrier for signatures. A couple are already there but several more then sprint towards the 43-year-old, causing a major pile-up. Ronnie is left shocked, taking a step back while the fans crash into each other. And spectators scream in surprise at the bizarre reaction. All winner Dale does is purse his lips before giving a cheeky grin as he walks away from the table. "Fans are going wild for O'Sullivan's autograph," the commentator says. "A little too exuberant there." But the supporters continue to put their programmes in Ronnie's face, begging for an autograph. This footage was shared on Twitter earlier today. Dale will now face Fergal O'Brien in the first round of the World Open. This is the first time Ronnie has lost a qualifying match since the 2016 German Masters. It comes as the Rocket slammed the English Open venue after his fourth-round exit.
