The Bachchans hosted a Diwali party after two years (more on later) and it was packed with star power. From the film fraternity, Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and others arrived while Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, Sagarika Ghatge and Zaheer Khan represented the Bollywood-cricket crossover group. Nita Ambani also attended the Bachchans' Diwali bash with her husband Mukesh Ambani and Radhika Merchant, who is reportedly dating Anant Ambani.

Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, actor Anil Kapoor also hosted a grand party to celebrate Diwali with his filmy friends but that's another story. Actress Bipasha Basu, who was among the attendees along with her husband Karan Singh Grover, shared inside pictures from the party, which included hosts Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan's daughter Shweta, who is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda, attended with her children Navya Naveli and Agastya. Couturier Abu Jani of the Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla duo shared a magnificent picture of Jaya Bachchan, Shweta, Navya and Agastya - all dressed in AJSK label's latest pieces. Inside the party, Gauri posed with Karan Johar and Rani Mukerji, who wore a purple and white outfit, festooned with polki necklaces.

Actor Akshay Kumar, recently seen in Housefull 4, arrived at the party with his wife Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav. Akshay Kumar had said on several occasions that he rarely attends Bollywood parties. Anushka Sharma, who also attended actor Anil Kapoor's Diwali bash, looked spectacular in Sabyasachi. Anushka and Virat looked lovely together.

Kareena Kapoor wore a Good Earth lehenga set while Karisma Kapoor opted for a red Sabyasachi saree for the Bachchans Diwali bash. They also attended Anil Kapoor's Diwali party on the same evening, for which Kareena tied her hair in a back bun to differentiate the two looks. Malaika Arora wore black separates with an embroidered jacket and statement jewellery while Amrita Arora opted for an embellished red lehenga. Bollywood's young brigade Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria all put their fashionable foot forward at the Bachchans Diwali bash. The Bachchans, who regularly hosted grand Diwali parties for the members of the film fraternity, took a gap of two years - after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father Krishnaraj Rai died in 2017 and after Shweta's father-in-law Rajan Nanda died in 2018. Over the years a number of celebrities have come out in support of a Diwali without crackers, with Alia Bhatt spearheading the #PoochOverPataka campaign in 2017 and Anushka Sharma promoting the #PAWsitive campaign to fight against crackers. This year too several celebrities spoke up against bursting crackers and celebrating a more eco-friendly Diwali. Actor Ananya Panday too took to Instagram to share a picture with her pet pooches urging people to avoid bursting crackers. The actor wrote, "happy Diwali from me and mine to you and yours and guys pls avoid bursting fire crackers to make it a happy and safe one for not just us but animals too." Speaking to the online division of the Times of India, Hina Khan, who was last seen in the Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot, said that even though she loves decorating her house with a lot of lights, she hates crackers. The actor urged people to say no to crackers and added that it is harmful and people should not encourage it. Actor Surbhi Chandna too told the website that she does not like Diwali when it comes to crackers, but loves the fact that the entire family comes together to celebrate, partake food and play cards. In an interaction with the newspaper division of the Times of India, actors Ishita Dutta, Pearl V Puri, Nimrit Kaur and Rehaan Roy too revealed they do not burst crackers during Diwali and even urged others from not bursting them. Ace actor Boman Irani, who has played the role of sexologist Dr Vardhi in the film Made In China alongside Rajkummar Rao that is currently running in theatres, also promotes a noiseless Diwali. Speaking to Mail Today, Irani said that while as a youngster he loved firecrackers, the time for crackers is over now. In one of the photos, Sara Ali Khan can be seen posing with only her dad Saif while in another, Ibrahim can be seen clicking a picture of Sara (just like a good brother). Instagramming them, Sara Ali Khan wished her fans in style and wrote: "Diwali ki hardik shubhkaamnayein." Fans are going crazy over Sara Ali Khan's latest Instagram entry. Prior to that, Sara Ali Khan shared a set of pictures of herself wearing an orange-yellow saree. The pictures were Sara's look from Jackky Bhagnani's Diwali party, which she attended on Friday.
