It's a little bit like living in a reality where time doesn't exist, all you eat is turkey sandwiches and Quality Street and you have no idea whether it's a Wednesday or and Sunday. And it definitely doesn't help that all the regular opening times and services for supermarkets and bin collections are a bit higgledy-piggledy. So to help you all out, we've collated a round-up of all the bin collection dates for Glasgow City Council and opening times for all the major supermarket chains in Glasgow over the festive period. Bin Collections Blue Bins Green and Brown Bin Purple Bin Wednesday December 25 changed to Friday December 27 Thursday December 26 changed to Saturday December 28 Wednesday January 1 changed to Friday January 3 Thursday January 2 changed to Saturday January 4 For anyone with bulk excess waste, Glasgow's recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day and close at 6pm (last entry at 5.45pm) on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. And in respect of disposing of real Christmas trees, the trees can be cut up in to manageable pieces and placed in the brown bin for kerbside collection.

Alternatively, trees can be taken to any of the council household waste recycling centres or to any of the following locations from January 3 to January 19: Pollok Country Park, Burrell Car Park, Alexandra Park, off Alexandra Parade, car park next to the golf course. Supermarket opening times Aldi (Image: NurPhoto via Getty) Although Aldi encourages shoppers to check their local store opening times HERE, they advise their festive opening hours are as the following: Boxing Day - Closed Friday 27 Dec - 8am-8pm Saturday 28 Dec - 8am-8pm Sunday 29 Dec - 10am-4pm Monday 30 Dec - 8am-8pm New Year's Eve - 8am-6pm New Year's Day - Closed Thursday 2 Jan - 8am-10pm Asda Again, opening times may differ across various stores, however, taking the Asda superstore at Toryglen as an example, Christmas and New Year hours are: Friday 27 Dec - Opens at 6am Saturday 28 Dec - 24 hours Sunday 29 Dec - 24 hours Monday 30 Dec - 24 hours New Year's Eve - Closes at 7pm Thursday 2 Jan - Opens at 7am Friday 3 Jan - 24 hours For individual stores, visit the Asda website, HERE. Lidl Lidl list their opening times for stores across Scotland as the following, while again recommending customers check their website for the opening hours of their local shops. New Years Day - Closed Morrisons Opening hours for Morrisons north of the border differ to those down south - here's when the stores will be open in Scotland, subject to change dependant again on where the supermarket is and how big it is. You can check the opening hours of each individual store by visiting the Morrisons website, HERE. Sainsbury's (Image: Getty) Sainsbury's supermarket opening times vary, therefore it's best to head to their website and enter the address of your closest shop. Taking the Buchanan Galleries 'local' store in Glasgow city centre as an example, the opening hours are: New Year's Eve - 7am - 7pm Tesco (Image: Media Scotland) As with Sainsbury's, Tesco's opening hours are subject to the size and location of the store. One of Tesco's biggest shops in Glasgow is of course Silverburn Tesco extra, at Silverburn shopping centre.
