The Eurovision Song Contest is the kind of ridiculous spectacle that, like figure skating, NASCAR, and local news in 1970s San Diego, is practically begging for the Will Ferrell treatment. Because while Ferrell can ably play the straight man, his talents are best deployed as an absurd character in an absurd situation. An Icelandic pop star competing in the Eurovision Song Contest fits this template nicely, and the first clip from a movie called Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga reveals that we could have another Ferrell classic on our hands. ADVERTISEMENT Instead of a traditional trailer, the just-released clip is a music video for a song from the soundtrack, "Volcano Man," featuring Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, respectively. McAdams is wearing a metallic outfit to match her metal facial adornments.

Ferrell alternates between a quasi-Norse suit of armor and a fur coat, and both the kind of metallic makeup that isn't meant to be subtle. It's a sort of mash-up of '90s rave attire and the fashion of Winterfell. Thanks for the feedback! Oops! Something went wrong. The music starts gradually until a pulsing electronic beat kicks in and cheesy lyrics about fjords and melting hearts are sung over shots of waterfalls, cascading lava, and snow angels. Never forget, in real life, Eurovision is the singing competition that gave the world Celine Dion. Thankfully, this movie is a Netflix project, so the release won't be delayed by ongoing movie theater closures. Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga will premiere on Netflix on June 26.
