The Valiant Universe launches in just two months with Bloodshot, which stars Vin Diesel as Ray Garrison, a man who is brought back from the dead as a lethal weapon, thanks to Rising Spirit Technologies' use of nanotechnology. Much like the teaser, the brand new international trailer shows just how the technology keeps Bloodshot alive, reassembling his body after it has been blown to bits by a grenade! Unfortunately, without any blood, it just looks kind of, generic? Guy Pearce (Prometheus, Ravenous) plays the film's antagonist who uses false memories to manipulate a resurrected Bloodshot into assassinating people. In the film… "Based on the bestselling comic book, Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation.
With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he's an unstoppable force –stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. Talulah Riley is featured as Gina, Bloodshot's "wife", with Alex Hernandez as Tibbs, a member of the scientist's team responsible for Bloodshot's technology. "Bloodshot" was created for Valiant Comics by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton in 1992, and ran for 110 issues with more than 7.5 million copies sold. Dave Wilson (Deadpool director Tim Miller's partner at Blur Studios) is at the helm of the sci-fi actioner. Bloodshot will arrive in theaters on March 13, 2020.
Now, Ray doesn't know what's real and what's not – but he's on a mission to find out. Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell and Guy Pearce are also amongst the cast of the movie which is directed by David S. F. Wilson. While October's first trailer was slightly more story-focused, but this one is more interested in delivering gory hi-tech action. Diesel is one of several super-soldiers who are sent on missions to blow things up and kill people, with Guy Pearce (Iron Man 3) plays the shady doctor in control of his life. It's got a distinctive comic book vibe to it and looks very over-the-top and violent. Check the trailer out below. Bloodshot also stars Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), Sam Heughan (Outlander), Lamorne Morris (New Girl), Toby Kebbell (Kong: Skull Island), and Talulah Riley (Westworld). It's directed by Dave Wilson, who worked on the acclaimed Netflix animated anthology Love Death + Robots, and releases on February 21, 2020. Bloodshot was created by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin, and Bob Layton and first appeared in 1992. He was one of the main characters for Valiant comics, which was set up in 1989 by former Marvel editor Jim Shooter. The Bloodshot film is part of a five-movie deal with Sony to bring various Valiant characters to the screen. As for the Fast & Furious 9, the first trailer is set to be released at the end of January--we'll presumably find out the movie's title then too. Dr. Emil Harting (Iron Man 3's Guy Pearce) is behind Garrison's resurrection, but keeps Ray's mind wiped, so as to keep him docile and easily controllable. When our hero finally remembers that his wife was brutally murdered, he sets out for revenge. Did you see Diesel's character catch that grenade in mid-air and then keep walking after it exploded like nothing even happened? That's weapons grade badassery right there. Eiza González, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell, Lamorne Morris, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson co-star. This is Sony's second comic book-based trailer of the last two days. Yesterday, the studio released debut footage for its Morbius project starring Jared Leto and (surprise! surprise!) Michael Keaton seemingly reprising his Spider-Man: Homecoming role. Written by Jeff Wadlow (Fantasy Island) and Eric Heisserer (Bird Box), Bloodshot blasts into theaters everywhere Friday, March 13.
