MANCHESTER UNITED fans have praised club legend Patrice Evra for his motivational speech ahead of the match against Paris Saint-Germain. In the clip – posted to his Instagram channel – the Frenchman says: "This is a message for all the United players and fans. I want them to eat the grass tomorrow." The former defender slaps his chest as he wears a devil on his T-shirt before giving a message to the supporters. Authorities went to the residential home Monday and found the overweight female tiger in deplorable conditions inside a "rinky-dink" cage in the garage, Click 2 Houston reported. "A pretty small cage inside basically a garage in a house that didn't look like it was in the best shape," Lara Cottingham, with the city of Houston told reporters of the scene. The tiger was tranquilized and taken to BARC Houston, a city organization dedicated to humane animal care, FOX26 Houston reported. Police say someone who went to an abandoned home in southeast Houston to smoke marijuana, ended up discovering a tiger inside of it.Houston Police Department's Major Offenders, Livestock Animal Cruelty Unit arrived on scene and found a 350-pound tiger inside.The cage that kept the animal enclosed was not large or sturdy enough for such a creature of that size.While the home was abandoned, several packages of meat were found with the animal."A concerned citizen called 311. They saw a tiger in this building, this vacant house that's obviously been abandoned for some time," said Sgt. Jason Alderete, of HPD's Major Offenders, Livestock Animal Cruelty Unit.After obtaining a warrant, they found the female tiger in deplorable conditions.She was friendly, they said, but she was tranquilized for safety reasons as they moved her from the home over to BARC's headquarters."We made arrangements for the tiger to be transferred to another facility that is licensed to handle exotic pets," said Heidi Krahn, executive director of the Center for Animal Research & Education."Finding a forever home for a tiger is not easy," said Krahn, who is currently caring for six exotic animals at a cost of more than $1 million."I tried to explain to people it's a lot like having a child.
The tiger is bound for a BARC shelter on a temporary basis, with Cottingham telling the Chronicle that their facility was "not designed to house big cats." BARC officials have been in communication with a wildlife refuge but it will not be able to take in the animal until later this week, she added. KPRC-TV reported that the Houston Zoo said that it has no plans to take the animal in. Police are investigating after a tiger was found in a home in Houston Monday, reports the CBS affiliate there, KHOU-TV. Officials said two people who went into the abandoned home to smoke marijuana called 311 when they found the large cat. He could have gone on a rampage in the city … anything could have happened!" said Sgt. Jason Alderete of the Houston Police Major Offender Animal Cruelty Unit.
