Close Police closed a road in Cwmbran and evacuated local businesses after suspect devices were discovered.
Gwent Police closed the town's Tudor Road and evacuated nearby businesses, including the B&M store for more than an hour. The force said "suspected ordnance devices" were found in a garage at the nearby police station. A 100m cordon was put in place and nearby businesses were evacuated as a precautionary measure. A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: "The suspected devices are not believed to be live and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) are en route to examine the objects as a precaution." The cordon was lifted and people were allowed back to their businesses around 11.30am and officers thanked the public for their "patience". Eyewitnesses reported a large police presence in the area.
