A large and violent typhoon will likely approach Japan over the weekend. The Meteorological Agency says Typhoon Hagibis is moving north-northwest over waters near the Ogasawara Islands. The storm is forecast to bring winds of up to 125 kilometers per hour and waves of up to 10 meters high to around the Ogasawara islands on Thursday. There is also a possibility of storm surges in eastern and western parts of the country over the weekend.

Typhoon Hagibis to approach Japan over weekend
