TRNSMT 2020 has confirmed that Lewis Capaldi, Liam Gallagher and Courteeners will headline next summer's festival, set to take place in Glasgow on 10-12th July 2020. The trio were revealed via a digital treasure hunt in which festival fans followed clues on Google Maps to discover the identity of the headliners, with the festival confirming their identities at 5pm. Also confirmed to be performing across the weekend are Foals, Snow Patrol, Ian Brown, Sam Fender, Keane, Rita Ora and more. 2020 will see the return of Lewis Capaldi, who stepped in to replace Snow Patrol at 2019's festival. The pair will both perform on Sunday 12th July.
Capaldi has performed at TRNSMT every year since its inception, and will be bringing string of hits, including 'Someone You Loved', 'Hold Me While You Wait' and 'Bruises' to Glasgow Green for what will be his first major UK festival headline set. Meanwhile britpop icon Liam Gallagher will headline TRNSMT on the Saturday night, bringing a mix of his solo material and Oasis classics to the festival, while Friday night welcomes Manchester band Courteeners and their swinging indie hooks and singalong sermons. This follows the news at the weekend that tickets to TRNSMT 2020 will be going back on sale at 9am this Friday, 29th November. Rock n' Roll man Liam Gallagher will return to headline his second TRNSMT festival on Saturday, July 11 with Foals, Keane and Twin Atlantic all warming up the stage beforehand. While Scotland's sweetheart Lewis Capaldi will finally close TRNSMT on Sunday, July 12 - four years after making his debut on the festival's King Tuts stage. He will be joined by Snow Patrol, who had to pull out of last year's event, and singer Rita Ora. The event is expected to attract around 50,000 music fans to Glasgow city centre who will take in performances across a variety of stages in the park. Lewis Capaldi, who made headlines last year after wearing a Chewbacca mask on-stage because Noel Gallagher said he looked like the Star Wars character, added: "I've been lucky enough to play TRNSMT every year since its inception and to be a headliner is absolutely wild. Geoff Ellis Festival Director Geoff Ellis promised even more names to be announced in the line-up in the new year and gave a special mention to Lewis Capaldi who has become a worldwide superstar since his festival debut in 2017. He said: "Lewis Capaldi is the biggest star on the planet at the moment so it was really important for us to get him. It's his fourth appearance at TRNSMT and he has played every year.
