In 2013, My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way posted a long note detailing the band's end. Way closed the note, "My Chemical Romance is done. But it can never die. It is alive in me, in the guys, and it is alive inside all of you. I always knew that, and I think you did too.
Because it is not a band—it is an idea." Today, My Chemical Romance have announced a reunion show, their first performance together since 2012. The band will perform at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles California on Friday, December 20. Tickets go on sale November 1 and can be found here. The band's most recent album is 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. In 2014, Way shared his debut solo album Hesitant Alien.

MCR are back, baby (Picture: Redferns) It's an emo revival as My Chemical Romance announced they were reuniting for their first gig since 2012. Think it's fair to say we're not okay, so get out that eyeliner and home-dye your hair black like it's 2005 all over again. Even though Joe Jonas kind of let slip eons ago the band – made up of Gerard and Mikey Way, Frank Iero and Ray Toro – were getting back together, this is the first confirmation we've had and we're thirsty. Taking to social media the group that was big, big news in the 00s announced a very well-received reunion gig to take place on 20 December in Los Angeles. It's been a back and forth with news of a reunion, after Joe's slip up (when he said he heard the group rehearsing in the hall next to him back in June) caused guitarist Frank Iero to go all denial on the thing, before throwing us a bone that 'anything is possible'. We should have known better when the Twitter avatar for the group changed to a candle, while they went and created a fresh Instagram page. It was all set in stone tonight when, on the band's official Twitter, which hasn't posted anything since May, tweeted: 'Like Phantoms Forever… Tickets on Sale Friday 11/1/19 at 12:00 PM Pacific.' Back in June Joe, 29, claimed that while they were rehearsing in New York, the band were apparently there rehearsing right next to them. 'I've got some dirt,' the Jonas Brother said in the interview. 'My Chemical Romance were apparently rehearsing next to us in New York recently, which — I thought they broke up, so…that's the gossip!' We never forgot (Picture: FilmMagic) Earlier this year, The Warped Tour organiser Kevin Lyman revealed that he tried to get MCR to reform for the event's 25th-anniversary shows. 'I tried,' Lyman explained in response to a fan's Twitter question of the band's absence. Those six months of rehearsals must be for something special, after the last time they took to the stage together was on 19 May, 2012 in their native New Jersey. They ended up calling time on the group the following March. The group has been pretty busy in the meantime, with Gerard, perhaps most notably, going on to create The Umbrella Academy. Advertisement Seems it's quite good timing seeing as Joe Rogan admitted just hours ago he was Gerard's cousin... Tickets to MCR's reunion show will go on sale 7pm UK time tomorrow.
