Highways England said traffic officers, firefighters and police are at the scene.

ONE lane is closed on the M5 northbound near Burnham-on-Sea due to a crash. Traffic is building on the motorway after the incident at J22 (Burnham-on-Sea) on the M5. Lane one of three is closed on the motorway, as well as the entry slip road down from the junction. There is congestion towards J23 (Bridgwater North) and travel time is around 45 to 50 minutes. Highways England said traffic officers, firefighters and police are at the scene.

There are currently long delays of approx. 50 mins on the #M5 northbound J23 and J22 due to an earlier collision which has closed 2 lanes (of 3). J22 northbound entry is also closed. Firefighters made the vehicles safe. One person has been taken to hospital by ambulance. A spillage of fuel and anti freeze is being cleared up.
