The horror accident happened at around 3am on Wednesday on the A78 in Inverkip. The 40-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene by police on Inverkip Road. The 38-year-old driver of a silver Rover car was uninjured. Sergeant Mark McGowan said:"Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this tragic time." The 40-year-old man was struck by a silver Rover at about 3am on Wednesday on the road between the site of the former Inverkip Power Station and the turn off for Inverkip village. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 38-year-old driver of the car was uninjured. Sergeant Mark McGowan said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this tragic time. "Investigations into the crash are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a man walking to contact officers on 101, quoting 0361 of 19 August''.
