Good evening from the DW Stadium, home of Wigan Athletic. Port Vale are back in action and a number of players will be looking to stake their claim for a place in the league side. This is Vale's second game of the group, having drawn 0-0 at home to Tranmere, but then gained an extra point by winning the penalty shoot out. So, if they can win this evening, it will put them in a great position going into their final group game, against Liverpool under-21s next month. I'm The Sentinel's Port Vale reporter Mike Baggaley and am blogging LIVE from the game.

So, follow me for all the build up, team news, action and reaction. You can also have your say on our dedicated Port Vale Facebook site or follow me on Twitter, @mbaggers37. Visitors good value for their win, Latics hammering on the door in the last 20 minutes but could have been four or five behind by then.
