And viewers are convinced Paige is desperate to uncouple from Ollie, who she tried to ditch straight away. They were coupled up together by default after no one stepped forward for Ollie, and he chose Paige. But Paige took the opportunity to try to uncouple from him as she stepped forward for Connor Durman in an attempt to recouple. But Connor chose Sophie Piper, meaning Paige was stuck with Ollie.
(Image: ITV) (Image: ITV) Viewers took to Twitter to share their mirth at the awkward situation. "Paige just wants to get away from Ollie #LoveIsland " said one. "Paige looks so uncomfortable with Ollie I can't" observed another. (Image: Twitter) "Paige stepping forward at the first opportunity to get away from Ollie is the content I like to see" joked a third. Ollie's appearance on the show has already been shrouded in controversy as the public were furious to find out he was an avid trophy hunter.
Millionaire Ollie has several pictures beaming next to the carcasses of the dead animals he killed, including a warthog and a water buffalo. (Image: Raquel Fernandes/REX) He also killed a giant eland, a species of antelope which is listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. He used the proud photos next to the dead animals to promote his hunting business. A source close to Ollie claimed he was only killing sick, weak animals which needed culling. The insider told the Mirror: "Ollie is a passionate conservationist and worked with an anti-poaching unit in Mozambique. "Conservation is crucial to the survival of animals and as part of that work Ollie was involved in the culling of sick animals who were a threat to the health of the herd. "There is a very big and important difference between trophy hunting and the conversation work Ollie has previously been involved in. "At no point has Ollie organised or booked anybody to go to Africa to shoot game." Ollie's already drawn attention to himself with his champagne-fuelled lifestyle and jet-setting ways. He joked that his old man had threatened to cut him out of his will if he followed through with his plans to head into the villa. His dad Andrew is the Lord of the Manor of Lanhydrock in Cornwall - removing Ollie from his will would have cost the 23 year old an estimated £15.8 million. Meanwhile, Paige was already known in the public eye for dating Lewis Capaldi, and rumour has it he wrote his number one heartbreak hit Someone You Loved about her. In her introductory VT, Paige said: "According to the papers, they think the song was about me. "If that's the case, then Lewis I am so sorry!" she joked. The 22-year-old from West Lothian, who is the ex-girlfriend of Scots singer Lewis Capaldi, was coupled with Ollie, who was threatened with losing his multi-million pound inheritance if he has sex on the ITV2 reality show. Paige said she was looking for someone "tall, dark and handsome" as she joined girls Shaughna Phillips, Sophie Piper, Leanne Amaning and Siannise Fudge in the villa. Democratic services officer Shaughna says she signed up in a bid to find "the opposite of what I attract really – the cocky know-it-alls". The girls lined up before the boys arrive for the first coupling. (Image: UGC) When the boys – who also included Mike Boateng, Connor Durman, Nas Majeed and Callum Jones – came on screen, they were told they would get the chance to choose first. The first couples were formed – with Paige getting close to Ollie, from Cornwall. Also new to Love Island was host Laura Whitmore, 34, the girlfriend of the show's Scots narrator Iain Stirling, 31. Laura takes over from Caroline Flack, 40, who is facing an assault charge. The opening episode saw the 10 new singletons move into the new villa in Cape Town. But there was a surprise for the contestants later on when identical twins appeared. Sports science graduate and builder Majeed received a text which sent shockwaves through the villa. It read: "It's time to really get the party started as two very important guests are about to arrive." (Image: ITV) As rumours swirled about whether it would be girls or boys, twins Jess and Eve Gale made their surprise entrance. "Twice is definitely nice, you know what I mean?" said police officer Mike, while scaffolder Callum declared the newcomers were "double trouble". But the arrival of the twins threatened to ruffle a few feathers among the girls. Shaughna said: "I was trying so hard not to look fuming." Flack is alleged to have hit boyfriend Lewis Burton over the head with a lamp. After entering a not guilty plea to the assault charge, she was released on bail with conditions that stop her having any contact with Burton ahead of a trial on March 4. Love Island fans have called for Ollie WIlliams to be axed from the show amid claims he is a hunter who poses next to the animals he kills. It emerged on Friday that Ollie, 23, is one of 12 stars who will enter the villa on Sunday, alongside Bolton footballer Mike Boateng.
