Max and Dianne were sent home in a shock elimination (Picture: BBC) Strictly Come Dancing delivered a shock elimination tonight with Max George and Dianne Buswell being given the boot. The Wanted star and his Australian pro were therefore up against EastEnders' Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez in the dance-off. Max and Dianne took on the American Smooth this week, to Harry Connick Jr's version of It Had To Be You. Maisie and Gorka Márquez re-performed their Barbie inspired Cha Cha to Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper. After the dance-off, the judges voted unanimously to save Gorka and Maisie – though admitted it was a tight fight between who they wanted to stay. An emotional Dianne praised her partner for his efforts during the show, and said: 'I think Max has done an absolutely amazing job.
'He has done four incredible dances and I know how nervous you get, but you've come out here very week.
