Brewster will want to be involved against Villa (Picture: Getty) Rhian Brewster is a doubt for Liverpool's Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Aston Villa. The striker was set to be one of the more experienced names in the Liverpool squad that is due to travel to Villa Park on Tuesday night. Liverpool's senior squad is in Qatar for the Club World Cup and no first-team regular has been left behind, aside form players recovering from injury. Under-23 manager Neil Critchley will take charge of an academy Liverpool side that will play Villa. Brewster, 19, is carrying an ankle injury and faces a late fitness test.
'He's got a knock so he's doubtful. We're assessing him today (Monday). Fingers crossed he makes it, we'll see,' Critchley said. 'I don't want to say too much, because hopefully he'll make it.' The senior Reds play their first Club World Cup game against Mexican side Monterrey on Wednesday night, less than 24 hours after the Villa game.
