Love Island star Dr Alex George has shared the tragic news of his younger brother's death. The reality star released a statement on Friday (July 24) to tell his social media followers that he was grieving the loss of Llŷr, explaining that his brother's death was related to mental health issues. The doctor received an outpouring of support from Love Island fans, as well as from stars from the ITV2 reality series. Stay strong, I love you mate," Wes Nelson encouraged him, with Alexandra Cane writing: "I'm so sorry Alex. Dr Alex has been working all throughout the last several months on the front lines of the pandemic, having just recently confirmed his split from girlfriend Amelia because they'd been forced to spend lockdown apart.
Welsh Love Island star Dr Alex George has announced that his younger brother has died. The A&E doctor, originally from Carmarthen, shared the tragic news on his Instagram account on Friday evening. In a heartfelt tribute to his younger brother, Llŷr, who he revealed was due to start medical school next month, Dr Alex said his family are devastated. Fellow Welsh islander Rosie Williams posted: "Oh no Alex! A fan told him: "My heart breaks for you and your family – I'm so sorry this has happened sending so much love your way!" Another posted: "Alex I am so sorry, my heart breaks reading this.
Fellow Love Island star Wes Nelson simply replied: 'So sorry to hear this Alex! 'So sorry to hear that Alex, what tragic news. One wrote: 'My heart breaks for you and your family – I'm so sorry this has happened. Alex came to fame on Love Island 2018, and is currently among the NHS staff fighting on the front line against the coronavirus pandemic. He recently opened up about his bond with his younger brother, and proud he was of Llŷr for following in his medical footsteps.
