All A1(M) traffic is being held on the southbound route of the motorway this evening following a crash. One lane of the northbound road is also closed due to the incident, (lane two of two). It is believed the accident happened at around 6pm today, Tuesday, October 15, and it is currently ongoing nearly one hour later. Cars are stuck in several miles of queues and motorists should expect major delays in both directions. The crash is believed to have happened between Woolmer Green and Welwyn Garden City, affecting junction 6 and junction 7. This will affect anyone travelling between Welwyn by Pass Worad and Stevenage South, or motorists wanting to connect to Broadhall Way and the A602.
