According to the New York Post, Olsen first signed a summons for divorce around a month ago, when she said it was clear the relationship had "broken down irretrievably". With the court system not accepting divorce filings during the pandemic, the former child star is asking for an emergency exception as she fears for her home and property. "My husband has terminated the lease on our New York City residence... without my consent," court papers filed by Olsen reportedly said. "This application is an emergency because my husband expects me to move out of our home on Monday, May 18, 2020 in the middle of New York City being on pause due to COVID-19." The 33-year-old fashion designer added that she was "petrified" her 50-year-old husband's actions would see her lose her home and belongings.
"I am petrified that my husband is trying to deprive me of the home we have lived in and if he is successful, I will not only lose my home but I risk losing my personal property as well." Olsen said the coronavirus pandemic prevents her from searching for a new apartment and that she was "gravely concerned" Sarkozy might dispose of or hide her things. Olsen's identical twin sister Ashley is said to be helping her through the "ugly" divorce proceedings, according to E News.
