Nintendo has revealed that the next DLC fighter coming to Super Smash Bros.


Nintendo will reveal the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter during The Game Awards on Thursday, it's confirmed. The fighter – the third of Ultimate's second Fighters Pass – will be the latest to be revealed via the December awards event, following its very first – Joker from Persona 5 – in 2018. Smash Bros. last fighter, Steve from Minecraft, was revealed in October and caused Twitter to crash.

Game director Masahiro Sakurai has said that the current DLC Fighters Pass is likely to be the game's last. The Game Awards 2020 will be streamed live on Thursday, December 10 from 3.30pm PT/6.30pm ET/11.30pm GMT. "I think there are a good dozen+ games that will be announced/revealed at the show for the first time," Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley said during a recent Reddit AMA. One of those will be the new story-based PUBG title from Dead Space creator Glen Schofield's new studio, Striking Distance.

Microsoft has confirmed it also has a couple of "surprises" planned for The Game Awards 2020, although it has warned fans not to expect anything on the scale of last year's announcements. One of those appears to be a Cyberpunk 2077 car for Forza Horizon 4. In 2019 Microsoft used the annual industry event to reveal Xbox Series X for the first time alongside Ninja Theory's Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.
