Normal People will return for two special episodes for Irish Comic Relief

Audiences will be treated to two new special episodes of Normal People as part of Ireland's RTÉ Does Comic Relief on Friday, 26 June. Normal People first aired on BBC3 in April, becoming one of the most popular series of lockdown. The Comic Relief special episodes will see Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal resume their roles as Marianne and Connell. Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis confirmed the news in a recent radio interview. Normal People is largely set in between Sligo and Dublin, with one episode based in Italy, in Marianne's family holiday home.

He's soared to fame this year thanks to his lead role in hit BBC drama Normal People. But on Wednesday Paul Mescal lent his talents to something very different - reading children's book Elmer and Super Elby David McKee in aid of Save The Children. Paul, wearing one of his iconic Connell chains, read the book from his London home, telling fans he was keen for viewers to donate.
