Believe it or not, November is here already. And after a fairly action-packed October, we're now on the home straight to Christmas, as our favourite shows start to build the momentum ahead of the festive season. Life-changing events, relationships on the line and court cases aplenty, it's going to be a bumpy ride in Soapland this month. Here's a guide to 12 of the biggest moments you can expect to see throughout November: 1. Yasmeen's trial lead-up (Coronation Street) Yasmeen's story is one that will gather momentum in the coming weeks, as her trial date edges closer.
Corrie has already confirmed that Yasmeen will stand trial for the attempted murder of Geoff from Wednesday, December 2. Yasmeen was initially due to stand trial in the summer, but the case had to be delayed when she suffered a heart attack just hours before she was expected in court. However, this now places the trial in the mix for the build-up to Coronation Street's 60th anniversary a week later. With the date fast approaching, the race is on to find Elaine – who is the most crucial key witness to the case. Elaine seemingly vanished into thin air back in September, after being targeted by her menacing ex-husband Geoff. But will Alya, Imran and Tim be able to find her before Yasmeen's trial begins? 2. Sid's life-changing injury (Hollyoaks) Troubled teenager Sid Sumner will be taking centre stage this month, as the show's issue-based County Lines storyline is set to have devastating consequences for him. The storyline will change Sid's life "forever" when he takes a dangerous amount of ketamine, seriously hurts himself while unaware of his surroundings, and ultimately ends up in hospital. Prior to this, viewers will see Sid's ongoing involvement with the drugs gang become even darker when dangerous leader Victor demands that Jordan finds out who grassed him to the police. Of course, viewers know that Sid was the one who reported his cousin – placing him in grave danger as Jordan's quest begins. At his lowest ebb, Sid turns to drugs as a last resort to numb his pain, sparking the life-changing series of events. 3. Mick is visited by a face from his past (EastEnders) Mick's story will be gathering momentum across the month, when a face from his past arrives in Walford. EastEnders will air a turning point in Mick's storyline during next Friday's episode, when he begins to open up to Shirley about his childhood. However, he'll be knocked for six by the aforementioned arrival the following week. The BBC soap's bosses have previously confirmed the casting of Bad Girls star Simone Lahbib, playing a character who has a "lasting impact" on the Carter family. And if you're keen to know more, then make sure you check back here on Tuesday, November 3 to find out more about this story. 4. Moira's secret is revealed (Emmerdale) Newcomer Mackenzie very much hit the ground running in his Emmerdale debut recently, and the drama will, unsurprisingly, be continuing. Mackenzie is the estranged brother of established character Moira Dingle, and will be the catalyst to her backstory being explored for the first time. Although Mackenzie had a close bond with his sister Moira when they were growing up, their sibling bond was ruined by a surprising turn of events – which may not be entirely as they seem. With Moira keen to share her side of the story, the full details of what really went on will be revealed in future episodes – with the repercussions of Mackenzie's arrival set to continue throughout the month. 5. Oliver's case goes to court (Coronation Street) Leanne and Steve's heartbreaking ordeal will intensify, as they head to court over Oliver's future. Next week's scenes will see Wendy, who has been appointed as an impartial representative in the ongoing dispute surrounding Oliver, interview several members of the family, as well as doctors from the hospital. Wendy will then deliver her objective opinion in the heartbreaking court scenes, due to air in the middle of the month. 6. Tiffany gets a surprise offer (EastEnders) Kieron McCarron/Jack Barnes BBC Tiffany is another character to watch out, as she'll be faced with a huge, new opportunity – which could change her life forever. New short spoilers for the week commencing Monday, November 9 reveal Tiffany will be given a job she never expected, but what is it? And how will Keegan react? 7. Charity goes off the rails (Emmerdale) Vanity shippers, look away now. Sadly, the popular pair's fans face more anguish over the coming weeks, as Charity begins to go off the rails. Charity did the unthinkable last week when she kissed troublesome newcomer Mackenzie in a purely self-destructive move, and she'll be forced to face the consequences of her actions in the weeks to come. Spoilers for upcoming episodes have hinted that Charity could be heading on a downward spiral as she hits the bottle to numb her pain, but what does the future hold for Vanity now? 8. The McQueen blackmail plot continues (Hollyoaks) With stalker Silas and his macabre doll friend continuing to cause chaos, the McQueen family's nightmare is far from over yet. The clan are still up to their necks in it, and this time, it's Theresa and John Paul's turn to face the music. Both of them are hiding big secrets from their family, but when Silas (and his unknown accomplice) up the ante, Theresa and John Paul are forced to 'fess up. But how far is this going to go? 9. Peter's new story begins (Coronation Street) Peter might have had a quiet few months on screen, but fear not, as he's very much back in the thick of the action. We already know that Peter will be central to the show's 60th anniversary plans in December, in a big story involving Abi Franklin. But while Abi's role in the plot won't come into play until later on, fans will be given a very good idea about where this is heading very soon, thanks to some crucial scenes involving Peter. Carter fans can, however, breathe slightly easier, as an affair between Peter and Abi has been mercifully been ruled out by show boss Iain MacLeod. Nate's plea hearing (Emmerdale) ITV Nate's plea hearing is due to take place in the second week of November, placing him slap bang in the middle of this month's village drama. Nate decides to take the rap for Moira's hit-and-run in a bid to protect a struggling Belle – who was being set up by her vengeful ex-lover Jamie Tate. Nate is resolute in his decision as he prepares for court, but fans should expect another big twist that has the potential to turn the story on its head. While Nate faces a life-changing decision as a result, Belle's problems will reach a critical point, as she's still hearing the voice of late mother Lisa. Although Belle has assured her loved ones that she's doing much better, it's clear that she's still in desperate need of support. But will anyone realise what's going on before it's too late? Lola drops a bombshell on Jay (EastEnders) BBC Lola and Jay's relationship will be hit by more hurdles over the coming weeks, as it becomes clear that they want different things from their future. As Lola continues to hide a secret about her big betrayal before lockdown, upcoming scenes will see her drop a bombshell that leaves Jay reeling. Fans will have to wait and see what exactly Lola tells Jay, but with whispers that he could embark on a romance with Honey, could this be curtains for Jola? Cleo's return Lime Pictures Cleo has been off screen for over a year now, but she'll be back in the village very soon – slap bang in the middle of the McQueens' latest mayhem. In real life, Nadine Mulkerrin – who plays Cleo – has been on maternity leave, after welcoming her baby son Reggie with boyfriend and co-star Rory Douglas-Speed last October. An Instagram snap revealed Nadine was back on set earlier on in September, and so if our maths are correct, that should mean we'll be seeing her comeback scenes later this month...
