Police officers have closed a busy stretch of road that runs through Derbyshire following a serious incident.

Police officers have closed a busy stretch of road that runs through Derbyshire following a serious incident. The A610 southbound near Langley Mill is closed close to its junction with the A608 Derby Road. Officers were called to the B&Q Island at around 1.10pm today due to concerns for a woman's safety. Traffic monitoring service Inrix is reporting that there is heavy traffic in the area. The incident is affecting motorists heading away from Codnor, near Ripley, towards Nuthall and junction 26 of the M1.
