Hot on the heels of the PlayStation 5's launch date and pricing announcement – 19th November and £449 / £359 here in the UK – pre-orders have already quickly started going live and are just as quickly going out of stock. Don't worry though, while stocks will be limited, there are still some opportunities coming for you to pre-order in the UK. Here's the update on what we know and where you can keep an eye on. It's been a hectic 24 hours for PlayStation fans, with the build up to the PlayStation 5 showcase, the announcement of the console's price and launch date, a bunch of new game announcements including Final Fantasy XVI, We also discovered that Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West and Sackboy A Big Adventure are all to be cross-gen releases that come to PlayStation 4 as well as PlayStation 5. Meanwhile the PlayStation Plus Collection gives a free library of PS4 games for PS Plus subscribers on PS5. Oh, and next-gen games from Sony are going to get more expensive… Bear that in mind when deciding which version of the PS5 you're going to get! More PlayStation 5 News: Following the PS5 announcement this week, UK retailers Game and Amazon have all sold out of their allocated pre-orders for the console, with Argos yet to open orders. Currys is out of stock at the moment, but it might not be long before more consoles appear, so keep checking. "We are working tirelessly to secure more stock," its website says. Good news! Ebuyer currently has stock of both the PS5 and PS5 Digital. They are both selling at market price. Game is out of stock for both the PS5 and the Digital online. However, its website states that you can pre-order them in-store, so it is worth calling your local Game to check. Similarly to Argos, Sony is giving people the chance to pre-order both consoles directly from the source through a sign-up process. Its website states: "There will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation. "Pre-order reservations will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis, so once you get an invite via email, we encourage you to follow instructions and act fast." Very is currently out of stock for both models, but more may be on the way. It offers a buy now, pay later scheme, as well as options to buy the PS5 with a controller or a year-long PSN subscription. What else was announced at the showcase event? As well as the price and release date, Sony also revealed a bunch of new games that are coming to the PS5. One of the most interesting is Hogwarts Legacy, a Harry Potter game set in Victorian times. Final Fantasy XVI was another huge announcement, as was God of War Ragnarok. Fans were excited to learn that the Demon's Souls remake will be a launch game, while we were also treated to a Spider-Man: Miles Morales gameplay demo.
