Queensland Bushfires in Australia New South Wales

Tens of thousands of residents and holidaymakers in Australia's most populous states of New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria fled to beaches and boats overnight as huge fires advanced towards towns cut off by the flames. The blaze ravaging the surrounding area gained momentum and moved towards their vehicle, a video shared by the New South Wales fire service shows. There are a number of dangerous bushfires burning at emergency level across NSW as weather conditions deteriorate with temperatures expected to rise ahead of gusty southerly change. The crew were dealing with a bushfire south of Nowra in New South Wales, according to Fire and Rescue NSW.​ New South Wales has been badly hit by wildfires that have devastated Australia for several months. Australia's minister for defence said army aircraft and vessels have now been deployed to support authorities in New South Wales and Victoria. Around 4,000 people who left their homes in Victoria have been urged to move into the sea if the blazes surrounding the town of Mallacoota continue to worsen. In the state of New South Wales, which includes Sydney, more than 900 homes have been destroyed and nine million acres have burned since November.
