Rangers moved 14 points clear at the top of the table after a 4-0 win over Ross County. They might not stay 14 points clear for long with Celtic taking on St Johnstone later today but it was another emphatic victory for the Ibrox side. Kemar Roofe, James Tavernier, Jermain Defoe and a Callum Morris own goal meant the points would be heading back to Glasgow. It allowed Steven Gerrard to make plenty of changes in the second half with all five subs being used and everyone played a part. It was a slow start for the Ibrox men as they struggled to break down a dogged County defence.
And the home side could have opened the scoring when Harry Paton forced a tremendous save from Allan McGregor. Rangers went up the pitch and opened the scoring when Tavernier set up Roofe to slide in. A second goal came around the hour mark when the ball bounced off the Rangers captain after an Alfredo Morelos shot and into the back of the net. An own goal made it 3-0 before Defoe stepped off the bench on his 800th appearance of his career to score his 301st club goal.
