Anarchy! Chaos! Yungblud! It's been a big week for Yungblud - earlier this week he dropped his brand new single 'original me', which features Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds. Then yesterday he dropped the official video, and premiered it on the big screens in New York city's iconic Times Square.
It all started with a simple tweet from Yungblud, asking fans to meet him in Times Square for a surprise... got the most mental surprise pic.twitter.com/psEh7r9oJF — YUNGBLUD (@yungblud) October 9, 2019 Let's just say that a lot of people turned up. A LOT. Enough that Yungblud stopped traffic, and crowdsurfed around Times Square with his fans. And the surprise?
The video, which was directed by Jordan Bahat (Twenty One Pilots, Christine and the Queens), is set in a dusty Las Vegas scrapyard where both Yungblud – real name Dominic Harrison – and Reynolds get cars unceremoniously dropped on them. Things take a surreal turn when the sky fills with floating vehicles. Watch it below: The video was premiered in a predictably raucous ceremony in the middle of New York's Times Square, with Yungblud joined by a host of fans to watch the screening. He even found time for a little crowdsurf too. Witness the goings on below.
The six tracks on 'The Underrated Youth' will also include 'Parents' and 'Hope For The Underrated Youth', which Yungblud recently performed live with a young boy onstage at a show in Dallas, Texas. Girl Wilde's new EP is finally here. The EP is titled Probably Crying, named after the opening track to the five-track release. The album features hit singles "WeT" and "I Don't Wanna Die" as well as two new songs, "BATSHiT" and "Killing Time." "There was a certain time in my life when I could only muster the energy to cry," Girl Wilde's Alex Barnes told Ones To Watch earlier this year. "My expectations for what life should be didn't leave room for me to experience reality, and when I did, it almost seemed to hurt worse. I didn't have the patience, or distance from my own emotions. 'Probably Crying' is about owning my emotional tendencies and trying to figure out where they come from; a way of taking responsibility for what it means to be a happy and healthy person, and not blaming my own mess on my imperfect (yet beautiful) relationships or life circumstances." Check out the new album below. (Burak Cingi/Redferns)/(Lester Cohen/Getty Images for BMI) Yungblud and Imagine Dragons's Dan Reynolds have dropped the video for their new collaboration, "Original Me." There's a lot of stuff going on, but the most important thing you should remember after seeing it is that if you see a floating car over you, it would probably be in your best interest to run away. The visual is wild and may even give you a vehicle phobia. "Original Me" is a storm of molten lava. The song's high-intensity feel is matched with the video that takes place at a junkyard with cars all over the place like gigantic mechanical roaches. Yungblud is a mechanic here and seems to have a car magnet in his pocket because vehicles keep falling on his face. The first two times, he's minding his business. Then he dances under a teetering pickup truck that crushes him. He walks away unscathed though, so the best way to celebrate this new lease on life is to perform with Reynolds. But it seems that the cars just won't leave him alone. Floating above in the sky is an entire aerial fleet of hoopties, ready to massage Yungblud's face with their grilles. It's scary to think about what happens next. "Original Me" will appear on Yungblud's forthcoming EP The Underrated Youth. It's set to drop on October 18 after originally being planned to drop on October 11. His debut EP, 21st Century Liability, came out last year. Check out the video for "Original Me" up above. Self-proclaimed original losers Yungblud and Imagine Dragons' Dan Reynolds feel the weight of life through falling cars in a junkyard in the video for their new collab, "Original Me." Filmed in Las Vegas, the duo dance and stomp through the dusty automobile yard, getting crushed by falling cars but crawling out from under. "I'm the original loser/Some days I wish I was anyone else," they sing. The track will be featured on Yungblud's forthcoming EP, the underrated youth, out October 18. It's available for pre-order now. Watch the "Original Me" video below.
