Hi-Rez Studios, behind titles such as Smite and Tribes: Ascend has just launched a brand new shooter. Rogue Company is a third-person shooter which has just been released into a paid beta. This title has been developed by a new team at Hi-Rez, named First Watch Games. From the launch and gameplay trailers, Rogue Company is a stylish, action-packed shooter with an "action movie flair". This is a tactical shooter game which lets players suit up as an elite agent of the Rogue Company to take down bad guys and save the world.
Stew Chisam, president of Hi-Rez Studios said they were looking to create a game which contained all the ingredients of great shooter games while still offering something different. Rogue Company has a few different multiplayer modes so far. You can now purchase the early access version of Rogue Company on the Epic Games Store. While this will potentially be a free-to-play title when it's finally released, there are three different versions you can purchase today. As well as gaining early access to this game, purchasing one of the packs will get you a range of different goodies including extra playable characters, emotes, outfits and other cosmetics.
Do you think you'll purchase the closed beta or will you wait until the final release? Yesterday, Nintendo dropped a "Direct Mini" presentation for us to consume all at once, and tucked away in there was a weird and very brief mention of Hi-Rez Studios' new shooter Rogue Company. It's actually for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One, featuring cross-play and cross-save across all platforms. It launched in early access already, with the option to buy three tiers of founder's packs, ranging from $14.99 to $59.99: this is how you buy into early access, with goodies like extra rogues (characters) and cosmetics. Hi-Rez boasts a "minimum of 60FPS" even on Switch, and is very proud of launching on all major platforms simultaneously with cross-play.
"Whether playing on Switch, PC, PS4 or Xbox One, gamers will enjoy the same intense third-person action at a minimum 60 fps". "We're proud to be launching across four platforms on the same day – a first for Hi-Rez Studios", says Chris Larson, Executive Producer. "From day one, we're bringing together a huge community of cross-platform gunslingers and delivering an ever-growing roster of mercenaries, game modes, weapons and gadgets". The exclusive early version of Rogue Company is available to purchase today on all four platforms: PC via Epic Games Store – com/store/en-US/product/rogue-company/home PlayStation 4 – com/en-us/games/rogue-company-ps4/ Xbox One – com/en-US/games/rogue-company Also today, First Watch Games and Hi-Rez Studios announced a new Rogue, Gl1tch. Rogue Company will be a free to play title but it might require payment in order to access the currently running beta. Hi-Rez Studios are requiring payment if you are looking to get into Rogue Company closed beta. There are several packs that can be purchased on the respective store pages for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Starter pack costs $14.99 and will grant access to two rogues and four cosmetic items, for example. Standard pack costs twice as much and will bring eight playable rogues instead of two but the amount of unlocked cosmetic items will remain the same. Ultimate pack will set you back as much as a AAA title, standing at $59.99 and unlocks eight rogues along with "a cache full of cosmetic items". Furthermore, players who get this purchase will gain 1,500 Rogue Bucks for spending in the microtransaction store. If you are not sure whether to put the money down for early access, you can go watch Rogue Company streamers on Twitch and hope for a drop. Just make sure you link Twitch and Rogue Company accounts in order to be eligible for such access. Keep in mind that cross-progression is a thing in this game so linking the accounts across all the platforms you might be on could be a good idea.
