Launching the PS5 in the UK on November 20 was a huge success for the Japanese makers as every shop that was selling the console sold out within a matter of hours. Many people lined up in massive queues outside stores only to be told that the stock had all gone leaving customers sad and sending them home empty-handed. But the good news is some stores are due to restock the PS5 soon. Fans of the PS5 even hoped that retailers would replenish their stock in time for Christmas so they could buy it as a present for their loved ones - but delays meant that people had to wait a bit longer.

A couple of stores have revealed they're expecting new PS5 stock this week and Sony, the designers of the PlayStation, has assured avid gamers that new stock will be on its way. This is what some of the UK's biggest retailers are saying about their PS5 stock. It hasn't provided a stock update on its website yet meaning fans will have to keep checking the website in case they drop an alert. All the gaming stores chain's branches are currently closed due to lockdown, as they do not class as essential shops under the Government rules, but gamers can look online for the latest PS5 stock updates. Shoppers are encouraged to check their store's Twitter feeds for the latest updates.

Smyths Playstation 5 Smyths are also out of stock of the PS5 console. But gamers who have been waiting patiently to get their hands on the elusive PS5 may be in luck, as when you click on the PS5 image on Smyths website, it states that they are expecting stock in January 2021. The new PS5 stock is expected to arrive with the toy store chain sometime this month. And with only two weeks left until the month ends, stock could be dropping at the store any time now. Online retailer Very are another store which have been out of PS5 stock for months now. They are keeping gamers on tenterhooks promising new stock will be on its way. However, the message on Very's website has not changed since the start of the year and still reads: "Unfortunately we have sold out of our PS5 consoles for now. So customers should keep a close eye on the site to find out when the PS5 will next be in stock. Argos is also out of stock of the PS5. When you click on the image of the PS5 on the website, which is listed for £449.99, a new page pops up, which reads: "Sorry, PlayStation 5 is currently unavailable. We're working hard to make this available as soon as possible." Before Christmas it warned shoppers it would not be getting any more PS5s in stock before the end of 2020. Amazon is also another major retailer out of stock of the PlayStation5. Although you can usually order everything and anything from Amazon, shoppers have still not been able to get their hands on the sold-out console. But it is not giving shoppers false hope, as the online giant has warned its customers it is not sure when the PS5 will be back in stock. On it web page, Amazon states the PS5 is "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." Curry's PC World is also out of stock but there is a message on their website reassuring gamers that they are doing their best to ensure they get the latest stock. The message read: "The new PS5 has now sold out! We are working tirelessly to secure more stock. Please continue to check this page for more updates." Games set to excite console fans in the coming weeks and months includes Hogwarts Legacy, Gotham Knights and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. It would appear your best bet is the likes of GAME and Amazon, as well as department store giants like John Lewis. "Unfortunately, PlayStation 5 consoles will not be available for purchase at our John Lewis & Partners shops or from our contact centres." Very shared a statement to its website, which reads: "Unfortunately we have sold out of our PS5 consoles for now. We have more stock coming so keep checking back for our next drop." Argos has not listed an update on when shoppers can expect more stock and Amazon's website now says the retailer does not know "when or if" the PS5 will be back in stock. Smyths says that PS5 stock is now not expected until January 2021, meaning a restock could be arriving any day now. Game no longer has PS5 stock available, with no update on when new stock will arrive.
