That's right soap fans – Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) have left Emmerdale. In tear-jerking scenes, Robron fled the village and said goodbye to their loved ones in Tuesday night's episode. Here's why the fan-favourite couple have gone on the run… Why has Robert Sugden left Emmerdale? Robert absconded from the village with his husband after he learned that vile rapist Lee (Kris Mochrie) had died as a result of the injuries Rob had inflicted on him in previous scenes. He decided to go on the run rather than face the likely possibility of a lengthy prison sentence, and Aaron chose to go with him.
It's been known for months that actor Ryan Hawley, who has been playing Robert Sugden since 2014, was due to depart from Emmerdale this year. On the subject of Robert's exit, Ryan said: 'The police are literally on their way so they have to be fast and quickly make it out of the village. They really believe they are going to stay on the run and make it work. There were very emotional goodbyes with a real sense of urgency.' On being in the cast of Emmerdale, he said: 'I will miss the show massively, it has been a huge part of my life for the last few years. I love working here, I love the people that I work with and it's going to be very emotional leaving.' After the pair left town, Aaron's little sister Liv (Isobel Steele) decided that she couldn't bear to be without her brother, and secretly hitched a ride with Mandy (Lisa Riley) when she went to give Robron fake passports. When she saw Aaron, she told him that she intended to go with them. Will Aaron and Robert end up caving in and taking the teen with them, or will they leave her in the proverbial dust for her own good? Emmerdale continues on Thursday 17th October at 7pm and 8pm on ITV. MORE: What's wrong with Nicola King's arm on Emmerdale?
