Saucepans at the ready – series 11 of The Great British Bake Off is coming to Channel 4 Tuesday 22 September with 12 new super-keen contestants. Like previous years, the show will run for about ten weeks, meaning The Great British Bake Off 2020 winner will be revealed in early November. Aside from the new contestants, this year we welcome a brand new face to the tent – Matt Lucas – who replaces Sandi Toksvig as the fourth and final judge. As always, the contestants are being put through their paces with a series of tests including the signature, showstopper and technical challenges, which are based around each week's theme. In previous years, contestants have spent most of their weekends and occasional weekdays in the tent but due to the coronavirus, this year they were all required to spend six weeks away from home and work – that's some serious commitment to baking.
