One lane on the M65 is currently blocked due to a crash this morning (November 6). The collision has taken place on the westbound carriageway between junction 4 for Darwen and junction 3 for Blackburn. Lane two of two is currently blocked. This is where the M65 merges from three lanes into two lanes. Congestion is backing to junction 5 and there is slow moving traffic on the eastbound carriageway as motorists slow down to look at the crash.

No injuries were reported MOTORISTS are being warned about long delays after one lane of the M65 was closed. The incident took place on the westbound carriageway between junctions four and three after two cars were involved in a crash this morning. There is congestion to Junction 6 (Blackburn and Whitebirk Roundabout) and there is tailbacks eastbound running up to near junction two. The westbound carriageway was closed for a time while police dealt with the incident. The first lane was reopened and traffic was slowly allowed to pass. #M65 from #J4 / Blackburn with Darwen Services (#BlackburnSouth) towards #J3 (#RileyGreen) currently has 1 lane closed due to a collision. A Highways England spokesman said: "Return to normal traffic conditions are expected between 9:15am and 9:30am. "There are currently delays of 10 minutes against expected traffic." Traffic had backed up on the eastbound carriageway onto junction four's slip round and Earcroft Way at the Blackburn and Darwen border.
