Lewis Hamilton won the first ever Formula One Tuscan Grand Prix in a thrilling race as Alex Albon of Red Bull also managed to get his first podium. The race was stopped twice after a chaotic safety restart which saw four cars crash out as well as a dramatic Lance Stroll incident later on in the race. Hamilton lost the lead to Valtteri Bottas at the initial start but quickly got back to the front from the second standing start. After the second red flag Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo leapfrogged Bottas effectively handing the world champion the victory. The Mercedes man eventually did manage to finish second while Albon for Red Bull got his first podium.
Ricciardo ended up in fourth with Sergio Perez fifth and Lando Norris in sixth for McLaren.
