Her family said in a statement to the PA news agency: "It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of Stella Tennant on 22 December 2020. "Stella was a wonderful woman and an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed. "Her family ask for their privacy to be respected.

Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a later date." Tennant was one of the most famous supermodels of the '90s, a muse to many designers, including Karl Lagerfeld, for her English Rose-meets-punk style. She was the granddaughter of Debo, the late Duchess of Devonshire and the youngest of the Mitford sisters. Her parents are The Hon. Tobias William Tennant, son of the 2nd Baron Glenconner, and Lady Emma Cavendish. Tennant was married French photographer turned osteopath David Lasnet. They have four children Marcel, Cecily, Jasmine and Iris.
