The Foxes are "monitoring" the FC Koln youngster, according to the Daily Mail. City's Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Italian club Roma are also said to be keen on the left-sided player. Jakobs only made his Bundesliga debut in November, having come through the ranks at Koln. He has impressed since then, making nine appearances to date and scoring two goals, helping the team win five of their past six games to pull away from the relegation zone.
Jakobs, who can play on the left wing or at left-back, was named the Bundesliga's "rookie of the month" for December. The Mail says the 20-year-old has been "impressing with his speed, skill and hard working displays". His current contract runs until the summer of 2022. While the North London outfit have Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon at their disposal, Jakobs may be regarded as a replacement for Danny Rose. Leicester City are also said to be monitoring the situation with Brendan Rodgers ready to add numbers to his squad ahead of an expected European campaign next season.
