Hello and welcome to live coverage of Tottenham's third pre-season game of the summer as they welcome Birmingham City to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Having started with a comfortable 3-0 win over Ipswich Town last Saturday and then swept aside Reading 4-1 on Friday afternoon, Spurs are back in action just 24 hours later as they welcome another Championship side in Birmingham. The visitors are led by Aitor Karanka, who was the assistant to Jose Mourinho during his time at Real Madrid. The Spurs boss is likely to rotate his squad with a different starting line-up to the one that took on Reading on Friday. The Portuguese is looking to get his players - those available - a good amount of minutes in the tank ahead of the Premier League opener against Everton on September 12.
There is also the Europa League qualifying stages and Carabao Cup to think about as the matches come thick and fast. Mourinho could also use a number of young players who could be part of the squad for those cup matches, with Harvey White having started and impressed against Reading. The friendly against Birmingham kicks off at 3pm and you can follow all the action from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium right here in our live blog as our Spurs reporter Alasdair Gold is in position in the press box.
