A key Birmingham road has been blocked off after an early-morning horror smash. Part of Pershore Road - at the junction of Dogpool Lane - has been closed to motorists after the incident in Selly Park at around 6.30am on Monday, September 28. Buses are being diverted and commuters are being urged to avoid the area as work continues at the roadside. Dramatic pictures from West Midlands Police shows the massive aftermath of the smash - which has seen one car hit a shop. Travel monitoring company, West Midlands Roads, said delays in the area could 'continue throughout the morning'.
A spokesman said: "Pershore Road closed between St Stephens Street & Selly Park Road. "Heavy congestion now present on surrounding roads in Stirchley & SellyPark. "Expect delays to continue throughout the morning. "Avoid the area and consider alternative routes." This is a live blog and we will be bringing you updates below.
