Emergency services raced to the scene in Nottingham, where a man is being treated for injuries, although the extent of them is unknown. Police were called at 8.45pm this evening and some tram services have been suspended, NottinghamshireLive reports.

Some people are reportedly still stuck in a tram carriage while emergency services deal with the incident. Eyewitnesses said fire engines are on the scene as well as police officers and ambulance. The force said it was called to the scene at around 8.45pm after reports of a collision between a man and a tram.

He is currently being treated for his injuries on the scene. Inspector Charlotte Allardice, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the incident while a man is treated at the scene for his injuries. "The extent of his injuries are not yet known and it is expected that Victoria Street will remain closed for some time until the road is clear." (Image: Handout) Police said road closures will remain in place for some time following the reported collision. All services running between the train station and Royal Centre have been suspended. NET Nottingham Tram tweeted that it was "due to an incident on our tram lines". Transport authorities are telling anyone planning to travel by tram to continue their journey by foot instead. Emergency services have rushed to the scene following and incident involving a tram in Nottingham this evening (October 7). All services have been suspended between the train station and Royal Centre. According to eyewitnesses, two fire engines are on the scene as well as police and ambulance. There are also reports some people are still stuck in a tram carriage while they deal with the incident. Those hoping to travel by tram have been told to continue their journey on foot. A police cordon is currently in place on Victoria Street. No further details have been released by emergency service officials at this point.
