Boris Johnson is expected to speak about sweeping new government powers as the coronavirus death toll in the UK rises to 137. Liverpool's Health and Wellbeing Board meeting on coronavirus is finishing as the city begins a partial shutdown. This comes as schools across the country are set to close on Friday. Emergency legislation to tackle the coronavirus outbreak has been published after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the closure of schools from Friday and cancellation of exams. Mr Johnson has been chairing another emergency Cobra meeting and will soon speak to the nation - he has not ruled out taking further measures to stop social contact in the UK.
