Transfers FC Barcelona are on the verge of confirming the transfer of Arturo Vidal to Internazionale. Spanish outlet Sport claims that the Spanish club has reached an agreement with the representatives of Vidal to allow the 33-year-old to leave the club on a free transfer. The Chilean will become the second 'high-paid' player to leave Barcelona after Ivan Rakitic returned to Sevilla. Vidal was told he could leave Barcelona this summer last week by new head coach Ronald Koeman. The veteran midfielder has entered the final year of his contract but Barcelona are willing to let him leave for free.
It is believed Vidal has already reached a personal agreement with Internazionale and it is reported that he will be earning around €6m at the Italian club. The Chilean international was signed by Barcelona in 2018 from Bayern Munich for an €18m fee. Despite not being considered a 'typical Barcelona player' he has been used on a regular basis by former coaches Ernesto Valverde and Quique Setien. However, new boss Ronald Koeman has told him he will be able to leave as the Spanish club is clearing out the wage budget this summer. Rakitic and Vidal are the first two players to leave Barcelona this summer. It is expected that Luis Suarez and Samuel Umtiti will also be sold. Suarez has one year left on his contract and has already been offered out to Juventus and Ajax. Umtiti has a multi-year contract but the club wants to sell him due to his history with injuries.
