New variants join Volkswagen's flagship range, but the Australian line-up is still unconfirmed. Volkswagen has unveiled the 2021 Arteon line-up, showing off a sleek new wagon body style, and R and plug-in hybrid options. The 2021 Arteon gets revised styling front and rear, with the new option of an illuminated grille. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Volkswagen's new MIB3 infotainment system and an 8.0-inch touchscreen all feature amid a redesigned dash and centre console. Travel Assist adaptive cruise control comes equipped, able to automatically adjust speed to match traffic between zero and 210km/h.
Power in the new R variant comes by way of a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 235kW. A plug-in hybrid engine option is also offered – though unlikely to be offered in Australia – which produces 160kW.
