"We are lucky we’ve got the day off,” Hamilton said after Friday’s practice session.

Lewis Hamilton claimed he was returning to Tokyo last night in an attempt to wait out Typhoon Hagibis - but F1 fans are worried the star will not make it back to Suzuka in time for the Japanese Grand Prix. Qualifying was cancelled today because of the extreme weather conditions so drivers must battle for their grid positions tomorrow morning (2am BST), four hours before the race. After getting a rare Saturday off, Hamilton decided to travel 236 miles east to spend the night in Tokyo away from Typhoon Hagibis. "We are lucky we've got the day off," Hamilton said after Friday's practice session.
