There is exceptionally heavy traffic on routes in and out of Derby this evening. Problems on the roads are being exacerbated by flooding that is affecting areas in the city centre. Traffic is queuing around Pentagon Island, where floodwater is causing problems. There is also congestion in London Road, in Osmaston Road, Traffic Street, around Pride Park and Railway Terrace is at a standstill. The A61 Sir Frank Whittle Road, Stores Road, Mansfield Road, St Alkmund's Way, King Street, Duffield Road and Kedleston Road.
Station Approach remains closed do to flooding. Derby bus station was briefly evacuated when the fire alarm was reportedly set off by youngsters. We will keep you updated below.
